Hi! My name is Laura and I started knitting with Madrid y Punto last November...and I love it! I am originally from Scotland and moved to Madrid last November... my Spanish is a little rusty so apologies for everything written in English! I have been made so welcome into this group and everyone is so lovely. Madrid y Punto is great as you can meet up with fellow like-minded knitters every Friday and have a good chat about our knitting projects. I was asked if I could take over the blog for this month so below is an account from each knitter and their project. Enjoy!
Joao - I am knitting the Ausma jumper by Quince and Co, with a yarn that I got from 'amigo inservible' (secret friend). I am hoping that I have enough for the sleeves too. The back part is done, and I am half-way through the front part now.
Cris - I am currently working on a notched hem tank top by purl soho. This is a present for my sister (for next year). I am at the very beginning of the project however I am really enjoying it as the merino baby wool is great to work with (the wool is a present from a very good friend).
Paloma - This is my first shawl made with 'Stella' yarn from Katia. It's going to be a present for my mum. It has been very interesting knitting the shawl as the yarn changes colour throughout. It's very exciting to see what new colours appear!
Pilar - Today I finished the white mohair/silk baby jacket. I am also wearing a dress that I customised myself adding a knitted lace decor to the bottom of the dress.
Cris F - I am knitting the French Cancan shawl with Wollmeise Merino DK wool and using 4.5mm needles. The pattern was gifted to me by a friend and I simply had to knit this shawl. Hopefully I will complete it in the next few days!
Elena - I have just started the mermaid tail for a newborn. It is going to be used for a photo session. The baby will be born in a few weeks so I am in a bit of a hurry to finish it! I am using a 'stop' acrylic yarn in a beautiful coral colour. I am also working on my blue summer sweater. It's nearly finished but it has a few corrections to be made.
Laura - Having worked on the burgundy snood last month I have now moved onto using a teal yarn. I don't know what I am going to make from it yet however I couldn't resist knitting this colour!
